Storage - tower House A house as a warehouse
The area per houses in Tokyo is very narrow due to a remarkable rise of the price of land.@Therefore many ideas for storage space has been developed. In a house as a personal peculiar space, how to store your personal belongings are most important. This becomes to pursue the function as "a warehouse" in the house. However, these personal belongings will increase as time goes by. The storage space of a general house is not enough and the thing that became enormous will over flow. Lately, rental container can be seen a lot in the Tokyo suburbs. People borrow the container for one month and keep their things that they do not use. Residents of these "small house" are most of the user of the above container.

"Tokyo" and a site
The site is in a corner of a residential area in Shibuya-ku. This district which is one of the residential area that is located in the center of the downtown area. These scenes like the Metropolitan Speedway, local shopping district, promenade and children's park, are where you can see typical residential houses in present Tokyo.

belongings and a tower
I think that personal belongings express characters of each person. These belongings which are owned by individuals can be roughly divided into two ideas. Those are "definitely necessary things" and things that is not abandoned in life. This things that is not abandoned in life can be a tool to find out the character of a person. In this house that Ive designed, "definitely necessary things" are stored in a horizontal space and things that is not abandoned in life are stored in a vertical high tower. There are two openings at the edge of the narrow space, which brings in the feeling of a depth into this space. The walls would be all covered with storage space. On the other hand, the tower would have a vertical movement with shelves and top light will lead to a symbolic space which rises in the city of Tokyo.
