1965: He started as photographer at a time when he hardly knew anything about how to take photographies.
He told me that Daido Moriyama taught him how to use the camera properly.
1977: He faced the problems of acute alcoholicism and lost every memory
- that means his words, his home, his wife and son.....
But he did not loose his way of photography and his sense of being a photographer.
It is important to him where he is coming from.
He told me several times ''I was born in Harajuku. And I went to the elementary school in Hayama.''
And the first question he asked me was ''Where are you coming from?''
- He lives now in Yokohama, taking photographies of that area. He also told me about his devotion towards the view of the stars at the Yokohama Bay.
Time is also an important factor to him. He always adjusts his watch before going out to take the photos. With clocklike precision, he eats lunch at11:00 and supper at 16:00.
