The WASEDA ARCHITECTURE Studio G has been recently established and is starting its schedule from now on. Studio G is headed by the collaboration between Professor Osamu Ishiyama, Japan, Professor C.Y. Lee, Taiwan and Guest professor J. Gleiter, Germany. This collaboration is just one more step in the attempt to achieve a full-scale international education at the department of architecture at Waseda University. This department with its long history of student exchanges to Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany, Rene Descartes University Paris, France and the Escola Tecnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona, Spain, is hearty welcoming the well-known architect from R.O.C. and the architectural theorist from Germany who will join our laboratory to create a new studio that is focused to relate between diverse nations and our own Japanese society. C.Y. Lee can be considered as being one of the most famous architects in China right now, well-known for his design for the Taipeh Financial Building and for his urban planning proposal for the city of Xi'an. J. Gleiter based on studies of the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche - he has a highly critical point of view on modernism. So please, pay close attention to our international members coming from China, Taiwan, Germany and Japan! |
